This fellow and his
friends started to appear at the beginning of the hot season. His name is
Maeng Sahn, elephant insect. Quite the name for such a little guy. Perhaps it's the tusks. To catch him spread a plastic under the tree and shake. In season there are a lot and it doesn't take much work, eaten like grasshoppers and the taste is similar. Maybe next time.
This
jackfruit, (
Mahk Mii) is more well known. They still weren't ripe by mid March.

Haha, what does that green fruit taste like? I'm very curious about that!
Inside it is yellowish and in sections that peel away from each other. Slightly pungent and fairly sweet.
It's all better with coffee!
